Job Description

The Poultry Assistant supports the daily operations of a poultry farm by caring for birds, maintaining clean and hygienic facilities, assisting with feeding and watering, collecting eggs, and monitoring the general health and wellbeing of the birds.

Job Responsibility

- Feed and provide clean water to poultry according to the farm schedule.

- Clean and disinfect poultry houses, cages, feeders, and drinkers.

- Collect, sort, and properly store eggs where applicable.

- Monitor birds for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behaviour and report concerns promptly.

- Assist with vaccination, medication, and other routine poultry health activities under supervision.

- Maintain proper hygiene and biosecurity practices on the farm.

- Assist with handling, moving, and counting birds when required.

- Help maintain poultry equipment and report damaged or faulty equipment.

- Dispose of waste properly and keep the farm environment clean.

- Assist with record-keeping, including feed usage, egg production, mortality, and other farm activities.

- Follow farm safety procedures and instructions from supervisors.

- Perform other duties related to poultry farm operations as assigned.
